(Term of lighting design)
Two names for a method to calculate the average maintained horizontal illuminance on a workplane within a space. Only the direct illumination from the luminaires to the workplane is taken into account, and the actual layout of the luminaires is ignored.
If more details are needed, then the point by point method will provide better results.
