Pattern Modifier Types

Patterns are used to modify the reflectance of materials (more generally: the emittance). In practise, this is done by changing the RGB color values of a material according to the rules defined by the modifier. Multiple patterns can be combined and will then all apply together. Patterns can also be mixed by applying a mixture modifier.

Colorfunc, Brightfunc

The functional modifyer types influence the reflectance of a material according to a defined function. There is a colored and an achromatic version.

Colordata, Brightdata

The data driven modifyer types influence the reflectance of a material according to data read from a file. There is a colored and an achromatic version.

Colorpict

The colorpict modifyer type influences the reflectance of a material according to the color values found in a picture file. This functionality is commonly referred to as image mapping.

Colortext, Brighttext

The textual modifyer types influence the reflectance of a material according to the outline of some text, as displayed in a specified font. There is a colored and an achromatic version.
